This platter is one of my favorite go-to appetizers for gatherings; it never fails to impress guests with its variety and visual appeal.
Ingredients
- Cheeses: 150 g Brie de Meaux, 150 g Saint-Nectaire, 120 g Roquefort, 150 g Comte (aged 18 months), 120 g Chevre (goat cheese log)
- Fruits: 1 bunch red grapes, 1 pear thinly sliced, 1 apple thinly sliced, 8 10 dried apricots, 8 10 dried figs
- Accompaniments: 50 g walnuts, 50 g almonds, 1 small jar fig jam, 1 small jar honey
- Breads & Crackers: 1 baguette sliced, 1 packet assorted crackers
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Remove cheeses from the refrigerator 30 45 minutes before serving to bring to room temperature and enhance flavors.
- Step 2:
- Arrange cheeses on a large platter or wooden board spacing them evenly and cutting a few slices from each to invite tasting.
- Step 3:
- Fill gaps with grapes pear and apple slices dried apricots and figs.
- Step 4:
- Scatter walnuts and almonds around the cheeses for crunch and visual appeal.
- Step 5:
- Place small bowls of fig jam and honey on the platter for pairing.
- Step 6:
- Serve with slices of baguette and assorted crackers on the side.
